How to create the perfect morning routine
Structuring or planning your day is an effective way of ensuring that you can stay on course ti achieve your goals operate at your maximum potential.
But what steps can you take to ensure that you perfect your morning and kick into the day energised and ready to pump?
Here are 7 steps for perfecting your morning routine:
Plan ahead - Make things easier for yourself by prepping everything you will need in the morning the night before.
Put your alarm somewhere that you will have to get up to put it off - Battling to get up? Use an alarm clock rather than your phone so you can stay off your phone as long as possible.
Rise with consistency - try getting up at the same time every day. I like 6am. Maybe you prefer a little earlier or maybe later. Whatever time you choose make sure you are consistent.
Drink a glass of water - Do this first thing in the morning.
Go outside - Go outside and look at the blue sky if you can. Oxygen and light will stimulate your mind.
Have a cold shower - Yes thats right. The colder the better. This is a way of disciplining yourself and teaching yourself to push beyond your comfort zone. For the uninitiated try 25 seconds on cold just to get things started.
Plan your day - make a list of things you need to get through for the day. If it is longer than 8 items the focus on the top 3 and make them the starting priority. Once they are done then you can tackle the next items on the list.
